Today's Choice for Tomorrow's Future

VEX Robotics

Robotics Team meets after school weekly on Monday or Thursday from September - February.  Students must complete an application and be selected for the club. Students use VEX IQ robotics pieces to design and build a robot to meet the year's challenge, then take their robot to competitions on the week-end.

The CRES team was started in 2014 after several third graders saw a demonstration by Carver Middle School at a school board meeting.  Cypress Ridge robots have qualified for the State Competition every year since the inception of the program.

This year's schedule included competitions at East Ridge Middle School,  Aurelia Cole Academy, Sorrento Elementary School Minneola Charter, and Pinecrest Lakes Academy.  In addition, we hosted the Welcome Back Tournament on October 21 and the Osprey Challenge on December 9,2023 in our cafeteria.

Cypress Ridge Robotics qualified seven out of eight teams for the Regional Championship on March 11, 2023. At the championship, CRES earned six awards including Tournament Champion and the Design Award.  They also qualified five teams for the World Competition in Dallas Texas May 2 - 5.

In addition to the Robotics Team, CRES offers several non-competitive Robotics Clubs for 2nd  - 5th graders.  Applications will be available in early September.
